Craft Beer Rising here we come!
We are super excited to say that we are going to be at Craft Beer Rising for the first time this year and it starts tomorrow! Running from 22-24 February it is the UK’s biggest craft beer festival and this year it is even bigger and better, and not just because we are there!
It is a place for us to showcase our beers to thousands of people from all over the country plus we are also taking the opportunity of launching some new beers as well exclusively at the event. There are trade shows plus also times when it is open to the general public.
Check out all the details on the event and buy tickets here, and come and see us on stand 15.
Come along to our Open Day!
Since the beginning of 2017 we have been working hard on getting our additional production site up and running and whilst there are always things to do, improvements to be made, we are pretty much there. We thought you may be missing us as the Tap Room is currently closed for renovations and so we thought we would throw open our big red doors and have an Open Day for all to enjoy!
So put the 27th January in your diaries and come along and check out our additional site, we will have our mobile bar serving the freshest of beer on draught alongside cans, there will be hourly brewery tours, tasting sessions running at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, music from our special playlist and food. If that wasn’t enough, we are also offering the first 50 people a free 1/2 pint on us! So come down and say Hi!
We are turning 4!
Can you believe that 4 years ago, our tap Room opened and we served our first beers? It has been such a whirlwind and since day 1 we have been overwhelmed by the support of our community and beyond. This last year has been crazy, we have worked really hard to bring you all better beer, more beer and more experimental and special beers. We have started to build a really great team of people who are passionate about Brick and we have a solid bunch of bars/pubs/restaurants/bottle shops and customers, like you, who continue to be passionate about what we do as well. So in celebration of everything over the past 4 years we are throwing a party to which you are all invited!!
This Saturday 9th December, the Tap Room will be hosting our 4th Birthday Party and we have some treats in store. We have not 1, but 2 very special beers for the occasion. Brewed especially for the party, we have a New England Pale Ale which has heavy grapefruit and tropical notes. Naturally hazy, it has a satisfyingly sessionable bitterness that keeps it refreshing with a smooth finish. We also have the launch of the 3rd in our Sour Series, Clementine and Cranberry Sour (yes we know on the poster it is the other way round!). Tasting it last night it is a light cranberry colour, zesty and refreshing from the clementines with a hint of warmth from the fresh ginger. These are exclusives and won’t be on general release until next week. There will also be a host of other Brick beers on offer as well.
We have extended opening hours from 12noon – 12midnight, with DJ’s from 3pm and food from Slow Richie’s with a special birthday burger to boot! We will also be giving away a case of beer on the hour, every hour from 3pm to 11pm. To be in with a chance of winning you just show your pledge to our crowdfunding campaign and be entered into the hourly draws for free beer! Please click here for more info and to pledge.
We have indoor and outdoor seating with heaters plus we are setting up our mobile bar inside! There are no tickets, it is free entry and everyone is welcome! So please come down and help us celebrate a wonderful 4 years!
Building Brick’s Social Beer Hub!
This year has been a good year for Brick, thanks to the support of the local community who have supported us since day 1, we have just completed our 4th expansion of the brewery by taking on an additional production site in Deptford to increase our capacity and have started building an amazing team of people. During this expansion we have moved some of our bigger tanks from our Peckham site and that now means we have some space to internally expand our Tap Room and provide a more accessible space in which to enjoy our beers.
We are so proud that our taproom is already a great place to drink great beer, but we want to build on this solid foundation and through much needed renovations and internal expansion provide a social beer hub for our customers and community to enable you to enjoy more beer in a more enjoyable space.
We have some great plans and we want you, our amazing supporters to be a part of it. We are looking to expand our bar with 20 plus taps for you to enjoy lots more craft beer from us and other great breweries, more toilets (yay I hear you cry!), an inside bar, a space for experimental brewing with opportunities for you to get involved, a better Cold Room to look after the beer, space for exhibitions for local artists and a dedicated food area.
So we have launched a Crowdfunding campaign that allows you to become part of allowing us to realise the vision and get something in return! There are some fantastic rewards to say thank you for pledging and for being a part of our Brick community.
Check out the full details here and get pledging – the campaign runs until 18th December but some of the rewards are limited and we don’t want you to miss out!

The latter only being available in can from next week and draught at the Tap Room.

Brick x South East Dining Room
We think Beer and food goes well together and none more so than if you happen to cook with it as well. Our good friends from South East Dining Room have done just that and have curated a brilliant and inspiring six course tasting menu of food cooked with Brick beers for their next pop up supper club on 1st December. Not only this but we are also going to be there to pair each dish with a taster of one of our broad range of beers that the dish has been cooked in and we think fits perfectly with the dish.
Keeping it local and supporting independent businesses has been at the heart of Brick since we started in 2013 and this project is doing just that, the venue is Space@61 in Peckham, all fish is supplied by family run FC Soper and all meat by local butcher’s Flock and Herd. Nothing sounds better than that to us!
If you fancy joining us for this event, then you can get your tickets here
Brick x Hop,Burns & Black
We are super excited to be collaborating with one of our favourite bottle shops and neighbours, Hop, Burns & Black to help them celebrate their third birthday at the end of November.
The HB&B Hoppy Trinity sees the Hop Burns & Black team pair up with Cloudwater, Fourpure and yours truly to create, respectively, HOP, BURNS and BLACK beers. They have also partnered with our resident foodies, Slow Richie’s to create a new hot sauce called DESPACIO.
The Trilogy sees Cloudwater doing their HOP best by creating the DDH Pale XXXX which is a double dry hopped pale ale rammed with New Zealand hops, Fourpure creating a BURN(s) with a Mango & Habanero Red Ale and Brick getting the dark side and creating BLACK with a Blueberry & Vanilla Stout.
We are hosting the launch and third anniversary party at the Tap Room on Friday 24th November and all the trilogy will be available plus in store and online from HB&B and other quality beer destinations.
Brick x Kanpai
This is Mottainai, a brand new collaborative beer brewed using Kasu, the result of the primary fermentation of sake from our good friends, Kanpai London. Kasu is packed with amino acids, enzymes and made up of a tonne of complex flavours. It really is a sought after ingredient in the restaurant trade and beauty industry. This beer contains rice, live yeast and koji and brings a unique umami (savoury) and citrus notes. Unfiltered, this beer has an orange hue and a dry finish. This beer truly is a blend of two different brewing methods and is one not to be missed.
Launched just this week, you can get your hands on it from numerous places across London, a few of which are listed below:
Bottle Cave, East Dulwich
Four Quarters, Peckham
Plus you can always buy it from the Tap Room. Limited edition and a great partnership from two local Peckham businesses, this is something special.
Beer and Meat Pairing
There is no doubt about it, beer and meat goes well together and there are definite parallels between the British craft beer revolution and its cured meat counterpart. Both are driven by passionate people who delight in producing stunning products in small batches. They love their craft, they love building teams of like-minded people, they love growing a business, and they love to talk about what they do.
So we have got together with one of the best British suppliers of meat and charcuterie, Cannon & Cannon for a beer and meat pairing night where we get to show off their stunning flavour combinations which maybe some air-dried loin followed by a light hoppy IPA, or a rich blood, wine and chocolate salami married with a dark porter.
During the course of the evening you will be guided through 5 courses of meat and beer pairings which will stimulate the tastebuds and delight the senses. All 5 beer and meat tasters are included in the price of the ticket.
The formal part of the evening will last about an hour and a half, after which there will be an opportunity to indulge in more beers from the bar and platters of the finest British cured meat, cheese, pickles and bread. A perfect way to while away a Thursday evening.
Come and join Jake who is super excited to guide you through our beers and why they have been chosen with the meats. It all starts at 7pm on 26th October and you can book your tickets here
Brew York x Brick v2
Milk was a Bad Choice is our second collaboration with Brew York, this time brewed on their kit up in York. This is a chocolate espresso milk stout which tastes absolutely amazing.
Available in keg and cask, this is launching this Friday 13th October at the Tap Room. Come down from 5pm where you will be able to taste this beauty exclusively before its general release next week. Wayne and Lee from Brew York will be there alongside Ian and the rest of team Brick. So come down, say hi and enjoy this Milk stout, it most definitely will not be a bad choice.
