NEW BEERS!

May was an extremely busy month for us all at Brick with loads of tap takeovers, meet the brewers, tastings, collaborations and generally being busy in the brewery to get beer into your hands! In amongst the May madness saw the release of 2 new and one-off beers released at the end of the month.

STRAWBERRY AND CUCUMBER SOUR, 4.5%

 

The latest in our Sour Series, we aimed to encompass the best flavours of a typical British summertime and throw it into a beer… just in time for this BBQ appropriate weather we are very much enjoying. Inspired by quintessential picnics on the beach, BBQs and countryside adventures and using ingredients synonymous with British summer time, the combination of strawberries and cucumbers evokes memories of sunny afternoons spent with friends and family; just how we want this beer to be enjoyed… (our beer version of that typical summertime drink, most famously drank and Wimbledon).

A sessionable 4.5% makes it perfect to enjoy on a hot, summer’s day; the strawberry adds a fresh sweetness whilst the cucumber adds a refreshing and cooling balance to the tartness of the sour beer.

DIPA, 8.7%

After the success of our Mango DIPA back in February we fancied giving this popular style another go with a straight up, no fuss, hop-packed DIPA. The hop bill of Ekuanot, Mosaic and Simcoe create that bitter marmalade flavour, sweet malts and grapefruit juiciness help to keep this DIPA light. In the finish there is a lingering hoppy and rind bitterness.

Dangerously drinkable despite the 8.7%, this pairs perfectly with the juicy and smoky BBQ meats being served up in your garden.

The Brick Brewery Tap Room is open Tuesday-Thursday 5pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday 12 noon to 12am and Sunday 12noon to 8pm. Food served every day by Slow Richie’s, except Tuesday’s.
